2023 NFS Submit To Foster Safety In Nigeria

The National Fire Safety (NFS) has announced its 2023 Summit to convene critical stakeholders from various sectors to address pressing issues related to fire safety and emergency management in Nigeria.

In a statement issued by its management, it said the summit, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Yanna Apartment in Utako, Abuja, aimed to foster safety consciousness among Nigerians in their workplaces and social settings.

The statement read in parts: “This significant event has garnered the confirmed attendance of key figures, including the Honourable Minister of State for Police Affairs, Chairmen of Senate Committees on Gas, Army, Navy, Defence, Air Force, Police, and the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service.

“In addition, all service chiefs will be present to engage in the panelists session as deliberations focused on equipping Nigerians with safety management strategies and tools. Key Objectives of the National Fire Safety Summit includes Collaboration Across Sectors: The summit seeks to facilitate collaboration among diverse sectors, bringing together representatives from the police affairs ministry, defense, fire service, and the armed forces to collectively address fire safety challenges.

“Safety Consciousness Advocacy: A primary goal is to drive advocacy for safety consciousness among individuals and groups in their places of work and socialization, promoting a culture of preparedness and proactive safety measures: The event will also feature expert deliberations on safety management strategies, drawing insights from service chiefs, government officials, and industry leaders.

“Confirmed Participants includes the Honourable Minister of Police Affairs,
Chairmen of Senate Committees on Gas, Army, Navy, Defence, Air Force, and Police, Controller General, Federal Fire Service ,Service Chiefs ,Over 30 Private Companies in sectors such as Hospitality, Manufacturing, Banking, Insurance and other services.
