He explained that Allah commands justice and abhors injustice, adding that Islam is built on equity, justice, and fairness which must be adhered to by all Muslims in all their public and private dealings to attain felicity in this world and the hereafter.

Lafiagi said, “I’m a Kwara northerner; a region that has not produced a governor in 26 years. By 2027 when the current governor leaves (office), Kwara central would have been in power for 20 years, while Kwara South held power for 8 years. In the spirit of equity, fairness, and justice, the next governor should come from Kwara North. This is an appeal to our brothers from the other regions. This state belongs to all of us, and we will all contribute to the development.”

He used the forum to offer special prayers for the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his administration for Allah’s continuous guidance and the wherewithal to do more and consolidate the remarkable achievements already recorded.

The programme which featured goodwill messages from eminent personalities present, was well attended by the admirers of the speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, including the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ojo Oyebode; the House Leader, Hon. Abdulkadir Magaji, Deputy House Leader, Hon. Medinat AbdulRaheem and other members of the Assembly.

“Friends of SYD” is a group of friends, admirers, volunteers, and well-wishers of the Speaker who have come together to promote his leadership qualities and good works.

LEADERSHIP reports that here have been calls from different stakeholders across the state for a power shift in 2027 to the northern part of the state.
