Viral videos have shown the moment music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, introduced his fiancée, Natasha Osawaru, to his family and kinsmen in Benue State.
In the videos, Natasha was seen meeting with Idoma elders and traditional rulers. It captured the moment Natasha walked into a ceremony dressed in a red and black Idoma ethnic attire, which she paired with a scarf, accompanied by her 2baba and other family members. As the couple made their way into the small gathering, a group of dancers received them warmly with a beautiful display of traditional dance.
This was even as a popular entertainment blog— Stella Dimoko Korkus— reported that the traditional wedding of the couple was slated for Friday, April 25, 2025, in Benin City. However, it pointed out that the report was still developing. Sunday Scoop could also not verify if such a ceremony was eventually held.
Since their engagement, the couple has been nearly inseparable, frequently spotted shopping, enjoying nightlife, and even visiting the Edo State House of Assembly together. Their public displays of affection have fuelled the excitement surrounding their relationship.
However, their affair has not been without its controversies. 2Baba’s declaration of love for Osawaru came amidst marital challenges with his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay, with whom he shared nearly 12 years of marriage.
While some fans are in support of the couple, others expressed concerns regarding the union, particularly noting that the introduction ceremony did not feature 2Baba’s mother, Rose Idibia, who previously made headlines by urging Nigerians to intervene in her son’s life. She specifically called on Natasha to “release” 2Baba from what she described as a troubling situation.
“This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son,” she stated.
Meanwhile, some fans have already flooded the couple’s social media pages to wish them a happy married life.
A fan, Jogger, said, “Benue State welcomes you. Our wife.”
Another fan, Quinlogo, wrote, “Congratulations on your wedding! You didn’t do a pre-wedding shoot with your husband and post it for us? You’re a young woman; act like one.”
Netizen Pathology wrote, “My legend! I knew it would take a little time; your haters will applaud you for your moves. Social media is not real life…I wish you the best, my sister. Good luck. I love you both.”
Mhiz Vic said, “Congratulations dear; happy married life.”
Pretty Omeche noted, “Our wife, we the Amufu people love you.”
