Security Guard On Trial For Answering Phone Call Inside Petrol Station

Kenneth Ifeasinachi, a security guard in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has been arraigned before a Dei-Dei Grade 1 Area Court for allegedly receiving a phone call while within the premises of a filling station.

The police charged Ifeasinachi with joint act, negligent conduct, and mischief, stating that he received a phone call while on duty at Rain Oil Filling Station, Gwarinpa.

The defendant then took the call to a fuel attendant while dispensing fuel in a customer’s motorcycle, potentially causing harm or damage to valuable property.

Ifeasinachi pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Defense Counsel applied for bail, stressing that it was at the court’s discretion.

The judge granted a N2.5 million bail, requiring one surety to be a public servant on Grade Level 17, residing within the court’s jurisdiction.
