Bayern-Benfica Champions League game delayed by 15 minutes



The Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Benfica on Wednesday has been delayed by 15 minutes due to public transport problems.

The decision was made to give fans a better chance of reaching the stadium before kick-off.

Bayern tweeted “due to the difficulty of many fans getting to the stadium, kick-off will be delayed by 15 minutes”, adding “the problem has now been resolved”.

Munich’s Allianz Arena will host this season’s Champions League final on May 31.

PUNCH Online reports that the game is on a goalless draw and 45 minutes on the way as of the time of filing this report.
