Full List Of Football Matches Cancelled In UK Over Bad Weather

Several football fixtures across the UK were cancelled on Sunday due to severe weather conditions, as the North West experienced heavy snowfall and freezing rain overnight.

The Met Office issued amber weather warnings, highlighting ice as a significant hazard in affected areas. Runways at Manchester and Liverpool airports were temporarily closed on Sunday morning as freezing conditions disrupted travel.

Concerns over pitch conditions and fan safety led to multiple cancellations. Chesterfield’s League Two fixture against Gillingham was the first casualty, followed by Fleetwood Town’s game against Wimbledon.

Naija News reported that despite the disruption, the highly anticipated Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield will go as planned.
