Grammy Win: Tems appreciates Seyi Sodimu’s support in ‘Love Me Jeje’ remake’s success



Award-winning Nigerian artist, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has thanked a veteran Nigerian artist, Seyi Sodimu, following her second Grammy win.

PUNCH Online reports that at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, Tems won in the Best African Music Performance category with her song “Love Me Jeje,” a remake of Sodimu’s iconic 1997 classic hit with the same title.

In a post shared on X.com on Monday, Tems thanked Sodimu for his role in clearing the sample and supporting the resurgence of the song.

She wrote, “I just want to thank the wonderful #seyimusic for his role in the support and clearing of his OG song Love Me Jeje.

“It’s brought the original song back to life for me and I’m glad that it’s getting it’s flowers today. A timeless classic. I appreciate you so much. Thank you for your love and support.”

Love Me Jeje, originally released in 1997, reportedly remains one of Nigeria’s most cherished love songs, and its revival through Tems’ work has reignited interest in the classic hit.
