Osayi-Samuel set for Fenerbahce exit

Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel is set to leave Fenerbahce at the end of the season after contract extension talks collapsed due to disagreements over his wage demands.

According to Turkish news outlet Mackolik, Fenerbahce has closed all negotiations with Nigerian international and is resigned to losing him on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.

Osayi-Samuel, earning less than €3m per year at the Turkish club, has been seeking a significant salary increase, but the former Turkish champions have refused to meet his demands.

The 27-year-old defender already has several admirers in England, with Premier League side Crystal Palace showing strong interest. He was recently spotted attending one of Palace’s matches, fuelling speculation about a potential move to Selhurst Park.

Fulham have also been monitoring his situation, while Championship promotion hopefuls Leeds United could enter the race should they secure a return to the Premier League this season.

Osayi-Samuel’s contract situation has been a persistent topic of discussion at Fenerbahce since the beginning of the season, with the club making multiple attempts to retain his services for the future.

The Nigerian defender, who has established himself as a key player for both club and country, is expected to prioritise financial terms and guaranteed first-team football when deciding on his next destination.
