One person has been reported killed and four others injured in a knife attack at a central bus station in the Israeli port city of Haifa.
According to Magen David Adom of rescue services on Monday, the male perpetrator, a man of about 70 years old was also shot dead.
The Israeli media, quoting a police spokesman said the attacker was an Israeli-Arab man.
The service added that one of the injured persons, a teenager, is in serious condition.
Germany’s ambassador to Israel, Steffen Seibert has condemned the attack in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“Yet another horrible, cowardly terrorist attack, this time in Haifa, Seibert wrote, offering his condolences to the murdered man’s family and hopes that the victims can fully recover.
“People on both sides must stand against such indefensible crimes.’’
