The La Liga’s top goal scorer was forced off after 78 minutes of the game, with early reports suggesting he would miss a couple of weeks with a hamstring tear.

Barcelona have now offered an update after the veteran underwent further tests on the injury.

A statement released by the club reads, “Tests carried out on Sunday have confirmed that first-team player Robert Lewandowski has a left semitendinosus injury. His return will be determined by his progress.”

The injury is bad for Barcelona and Lewandowski as the player may be out for around three weeks and will miss some big games, including the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid and first leg semifinals clash against Inter Milan.

Hansi Flick will now have to tweak this team without Lewandowski.

The obvious change would be to bring in Ferran Torres who has scored 17 goals for Barcelona this season in all competitions.
