Abia Medical City Will Focus On Sub-Saharan Africa – Otti’s Aide

Abia State commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu has said the administration’s proposed Abia Medical City will focus on Sub-Saharan Africa for its services.

Kanu announced this when he briefed the press in Umuahia, the capital on the outcome of this week’s executive council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti

“When completed the facility will transform the state to a destination point for medical cases both within the country and Sub- Saharan Africa.”

He said arrangements had been on for the flag-off of the “construction of the signature project of the administration designed to reverse medical tourism to the state”.

“Abia citizens, Nigerians, and indeed other Africans will want to come to the state on medical tourism once the project is completed.”

Kanu noted that the project is one of the multiple moves the administration had made recently to prioritise the health sector in line with Otti’s campaign pledges.
