Achunine earns Ashoka fellowship for innovation

The founder of Health Emergency Initiative, Paschal Achunine, has been named an Ashoka Fellow, joining a global network of innovators creating systemic change.

A statement noted that Achunine’s recognition highlights his contributions to emergency healthcare in Nigeria.

The Ashoka Fellowship underscores Achunine’s commitment to saving lives and fostering systemic healthcare transformation in Nigeria and beyond.

Through HEI, Achunine has redefined prehospital and emergency care, empowering ordinary citizens, including truck drivers, artisans, students, and market women, as trained first responders.
