Adeboye: ‘Activism Is Not Craziness,’ VDM Lambasts Detained TikToker SeaKing

Social media critic, Martin Vincent Otse popularly called VeryDarkMan (VDM), has expressed displeasure over a viral video by Nigerian TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo, also known as Seaking, where he referred to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, as a ‘useless boy.’

VeryDarkMan, while reacting to the issue in a video posted on his social media handle, stated that Seaking was wrong to have insulted the 82-year-old cleric no matter the provocation because ‘activism is not craziness’.

LEADERSHIP recalls that SeaKing was arrested for allegedly cyber-bullying the RCCG general overseer. But, Adeboye stated on Friday night that he was not connected to the TikToter’s arrest.

The revered cleric called for SeaKing’s immediate release following reactions trailing his detention.

However, VDM, who stated that he was against illegal detention, slammed Seaking for disrespecting Adeboye, stressing that the clergy was old enough to be his grandfather.

“Calling him a ‘useless boy’, someone of that age is crazy, I don’t want to know the level of activism,” he said.

Sharing the video, VDM wrote in a caption, “While we are saying they should free him, we should also condemn this, how you go call PASTOR EA ADEBOYE this, how? Come on na.

“I heard it’s somebody that wrote the petition on behalf of Pastor Adeboye, no matter Wetin you want talk, this is rubbish,” VDM said in pidgin English.

“You come online to say one or two things that you have noticed about the church, it’s fine, but this kind of direct insult, it’s crazy, nobody will take that.”

The social media critic noted that he was also in support of the TikToker’s release, but urged that Seaking be advised against insulting elderly people.

“You can call VeryDarkMan a useless boy, but you cannot call Adeboye a useless boy,” he stressed.
