AFCON 2023: I Still Feel Pains, Says Injured Super Eagles’ Goalkeeper Nwabali

Super Eagles’ first choice goalkeeper at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, Stanley Nwabali, has revealed his condition following the injury he suffered in Nigeria’s tensed encounter with Cameroon in the round of 16 on Saturday.

LEADERSHIP reports that the Super Eagles of Nigeria emerged victorious over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon with 2:0 scoreline.

Ademola Lookman’s brace ensured Nigeria a place in the quarterfinals where they will face Angola in Abidjan on Friday after the Palaca Negras beat Namibia 3-0 in Bouake earlier on Saturday in the first of the knockout round games.

Nwabali, who spoke to the journalists after the game, said he was still feeling the pain, but he would have to wait for the doctor’s report.

Nwabali could not finish the match as he was replaced in the 80th minute by Francis Uzoho after a collision with Cameroonian Georges-Kevin N’Koudou left him in pains.
