AFCON: I still love South Africa, says Super Eagles goalkeeper Nwabali 

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, expressed his affection for South Africa, stating that he loves the country as much as its fans love him.

 

Nwabali shared this sentiment in a statement on his Instagram account following Nigeria’s advancement to the final of the 2023 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

 

Nwabali, who plays for South African Premier Soccer League, Chippa United,  emphasized his passion for the game and his commitment to the team, affirming his admiration for South Africa despite the competitive atmosphere.

 

He wrote, “This is a game I’m born to play. A night to remember!!! I felt every bit of it!! Brick by brick and dreams are coming true. No love lost at all. I still love South Africa as much as their fans loves me. My name is Nwabali Stanley Bobo and I love this team with all my heart. Safe hands”

 

Nwabali has been Chippa United’s first-choice goalkeeper in the Premier Soccer League, and prior to the Africa Cup of Nations, he had played 15 top-tier matches for his club.

 

 

The Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 in penalties to reach the African Cup of Nations final.
