Airtel partners music icons to promote smarter data usage

Airtel Africa, a leading telecommunications and mobile money provider across 14 African countries, has partnered with renowned African music stars Fally Ipupa, Diamond Platnumz, and Simi to educate customers on optimising their data usage.

The collaboration aims to enhance the digital experience of Airtel’s customers by encouraging them to make more informed decisions about their data bundles.

The three artists have created a special song designed to offer practical tips on how users can maximise their data for activities like internet browsing, streaming, and accessing essential apps.

In a recent statement to The PUNCH, Airtel Africa revealed that the campaign is part of their ongoing initiative to raise awareness about efficient data usage.

The initiative encourages customers to get smarter data settings, set smarter data speeds, and make better use of their data for a more rewarding digital experience.

The campaign is specifically targeted at young customers aged 18-35 in seven African countries, including Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, and Malawi.

Airtel aims to empower its users with the tools and knowledge to better manage their data usage, thus contributing to a more rewarding digital experience.

Speaking about the campaign, the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Airtel Africa, Rohit Marwha, stated, “Our goal with this campaign is to ensure that our customers get the most out of Airtel data bundles, thereby enhancing their online experience.

“Collaborating with these artists, who our customers love and engage with daily, ensures that they are aware of these data hacks, and they can seamlessly adopt usage and management of their data through clear messages that resonate with them.

“At Airtel Africa, our priority is in creating exceptional customer experiences with our products and services. We hope that through this edutainment campaign, delivered through authentic, internationally acclaimed African artists, our customers will be empowered and have rewarding online experiences, whether for business or leisure.”
