ANFASSC empowers special children at novelty match



The Authentic Nigeria Football & Allied Sports Supporters Club empowered physically challenged children with wheelchairs and crutches during their ‘Seed of Love Outreach 2025’ event in Lagos, The PUNCH reports.

Lagos State Governor’s Special Advisor on Grassroots Sports Development, Adebanji Atewegboye, praised ANFASSC’s initiative to support charitable children and promote unity through sports.

“It is a wonderful programme that Supporters Club have put together to empower this our disabled children,” Atewegboye said.

“We are happy to be here to support them through the novelty match.”


The event culminated in a friendly match between ANFASSC and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Lagos chapter at the Legacy Pitch of the Lagos National Stadium.

The ANFASSC team featured former Super Eagles stars Emmanuel Emenike, Yusuf Ayila, Ogenyi Onazi, Michael Babatunde and Raheem Lawal.

ANFASSC president Abayomi Ogunjimi presented the mobility aids to the specially abled children during the ceremony, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to community service through sports.

The presence of former international footballers added excitement to the occasion, with their participation helping to raise awareness for the charitable cause while entertaining spectators at the venue.

The initiative represents another step in ANFASSC’s ongoing efforts to use sports as a vehicle for positive change in the community, particularly focusing on supporting children with special needs.
