‘Any Moment From Now’ – Ex-NFF President Confirms New Super Eagles Coach

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to announce a new foreign coach for the Super Eagles, a move described by former president Amaju Pinnick as a step towards revitalizing the team.

Speaking to Channels Television Sports Tonight, Pinnick expressed confidence in the imminent appointment.

Any moment from now, I am sure they would be announcing a coach, an enterprising coach at that,” he said.

The Super Eagles have been without a permanent coach since June 2024, following the resignation of Finidi George. The incoming coach will be tasked with leading the team through the remainder of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Naija News reports that Austin Egoaveon had stepped in as an Interim Coach to manage the team until a permanent head coach is hired.

Currently, Nigeria sits second from the bottom in Group C, having accumulated just three points from four matches. Their qualification campaign resumes with an away match in Rwanda, followed by a home fixture against Zimbabwe in March.
