Bauchi Assembly Seeks Relief Materials For Victims Of Windstorm

Bauchi State House of Assembly, has urged the state government to provide relief materials to victims of recent windstorm in Mansur, Yalo, Futuk, Digare and other neighboring villages in Alkaleri local government area.

The House said this would improve the standard of living of the windstorm victims and give them a sense of belonging.

Speaker of the House Abubakar Sulaiman made the call during the House proceedings on matters of public importance moved by Bala Abdullahi Dan, a member representing Duguri/Gwana constituency, over the windstorm that wreaked havoc on Alkaleri local government area.
Earlier, while presenting the issue on the floor of the House under matters of public importance, Hon. Bala

Abdullahi Dan lamented the effect of the windstorm in his constituency.

He revealed that the windstorm caused serious havoc in the area, affecting villages, saying two lives were lost and residential houses, among others, were blown away, calling for more support for the victims.
Bala Abdullahi Dan appealed to the state government to provide succour to his people.

He further called on the Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency to provide medical assistance, shelter, and all necessary support to the affected families.

In a separate interview, the lawmaker advised people of his constituency to desist from blocking waterways and avoid building houses on waterways for their safety as the rainy season sets in.
