Bauchi Governor: No Safe Haven For Criminals In 2025

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that criminals and their collaborators will no longer have haven in the state by 2025.

The governor declared in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity yesterday as part of its New Year message.

“We have resolved to maintain security by remaining vigilant against the activities of criminal elements,” the statement read.

“I assure you that criminals and their collaborators will find no refuge in Bauchi State. The government will continue to provide the necessary support to security agencies to address any security challenges that may arise efficiently.”

The governor urged residents to collaborate with security personnel by reporting suspicious movements or individuals, emphasising that the fight against insecurity requires collective effort.

“I call on all traditional rulers, religious leaders, stakeholders, and politicians across party lines to support efforts to ensure peace, tranquillity, and prosperity in Bauchi State and Nigeria. Together, we can achieve lasting peace,” he said.

The governor reiterated his government’s commitment to good governance through consultation, stakeholder engagement, and accountability.

“We consider it the inalienable right of the people to hold the government accountable. As a caring government, we aim to demonstrate that we recognise the voter beyond Election Day,” he stated.

He also acknowledged the economic challenges faced by citizens and assured them of continued efforts to provide palliative measures and long-term solutions.

“Bauchi State remains focused on improving its socio-economic and political landscape while fostering community collaboration to achieve sustainable progress”, the governor said.
