Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen are making significant strides to extend the contract of Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface.
Bayer Leverkusen are engaged in advanced negotiations to extend Victor Boniface’s contract until 2029, in response to interest from Manchester United.
According to Sky Germany, the new deal would not only extend his current agreement, which runs until 2028, but also include a substantial pay rise, positioning Boniface among the top earners at the club.
Since he arrived from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023, Boniface has made a remarkable impact, netting 29 goals and providing 10 assists in 49 appearances.
His contributions were vital as Leverkusen clinched their first-ever Bundesliga title and the DFB-Pokal last season, followed by a victory in the German Super Cup this year, where he scored the opening goal.
His stellar performances during his debut season earned him the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award, which has drawn the attention of several European clubs, with Manchester United reportedly showing a keen interest.
Despite currently sidelined with a thigh injury sustained while on international duty, Victor Boniface has expressed a preference for La Liga should he consider a move away from Germany.
Transfer expert Patrick Berger noted that while English clubs are keeping an eye on Boniface, the Nigeria international feels at home at Bayer Leverkusen and envisions his immediate future in the Rhineland.
