Beyoncé’s Childhood Home Engulfed In Christmas Day Fire

Beyoncé’s childhood home fell victim to a fire on Christmas Day.

Firefighters from Houston, Texas’ Third Ward rushed to a blaze on the 2400 block of Rosedale Street in the early hours of Christmas Day, as reported by local station KIAH.

They managed to largely suppress the flames within 10 minutes of arrival, following a three-minute response time.

The occupants—a couple and their two children—were present at the time but remained uninjured.

The cause of the fire that engulfed the two-story home remains unclear.

Notably, December holds the leading position for residential fires in the U.S., amplified by the holiday season, according to the National Fire Protection Association.

The Knowles family, known for their daughter Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, who grew into an international pop star and holds the record for the most Grammy wins, purchased the Houston home for $64,000 in 1981, as per TMZ reports.

Their departure from the three-bedroom house in 1986 followed the arrival of Beyoncé’s sibling, Solange Piaget Knowles, also a Grammy-winning artist, born in the same year.

The residence boasts a spiral staircase, three bathrooms, and an office space.

TMZ mentioned a purchase of the adjacent 8,640-square-foot lot for $310,000 last year.

Beyoncé concluded her 39-city Renaissance World Tour with two performances in Houston in September, raking in $579 million.

The “Crazy in Love” singer set a new record at this year’s Grammy Awards by winning her 32nd gramophone trophy, surpassing all previous single honorees.
