The wave of young players moving to Europe from Nigeria’s second division side Beyond Limits is set to continue as team captain Oluseyi Ogunniyi has agreed a deal to join Danish 1st division side AC Horsens, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Ogunniyi who clocked 18 on March 11 is expected to join the Danish league promotion hopefuls Horsens this summer after the conclusion of the current Nigerian league season.
The teenager, who came through the ranks from the U-15s, featured in the NPFL U-15 promises some years ago, where he was named in the team of the competition following exciting performances.
He was then promoted to the U-17 where he featured in the TCC League – a privately owned league for teams in Ogun State and Lagos State and other international competitions such as the Gothia Cup, and Viareggio Cup.
Ogunniyi is a versatile fullback who is rated as one of the brightest young prospects in the country.
He has been a regular feature on the Beyond Limits side for the past two seasons and took over the team’s captainship at the start of the current campaign.
Just recently, he lifted his first silverware as Beyond Limits’ captain after they defeated Dino Sporting Club 3-0 in the Creative Championship Cup final in Ijebu Ode.
