The emphatic victory sent shockwaves through the footballing world as PSG celebrated their long-awaited triumph in European football’s most prestigious competition.

The match kicked off in front of a vibrant crowd and within just 12 minutes, PSG took the lead through Achraf Hakimi, who capitalised on a defensive lapse by Inter to slot the ball home. The early goal set the tone for the match and gave PSG the confidence to control proceedings.

By the 20th minute, the lead was doubled when the impressive D. Doué linked up with Ousmane Dembélé, flicking the ball past the advancing Inter goalkeeper to make it 2-0. The French side displayed an attacking flair that left the Inter defence scrambling, and despite a spirited effort from the Italian giants, they could not find a foothold in the game.

As the teams headed into half-time, PSG were comfortably placed at 2-0, showcasing their dominance with quick transitions and sharp finishing.

After the break, Inter manager Simone Inzaghi made tactical changes, bringing on N. Zalewski and looking to shift the momentum. However, PSG’s relentless pressure paid off in the 63rd minute when D. Doué was involved yet again, this time providing a crucial assist for Vitinha, who made it 3-0 with a well-placed shot.

Doué wasn’t done yet. He scored his own goal in the 73rd minute, finding the net after a swift team move that left the Inter Milan defence exposed, and then S. Mayulu, assisted by Barcola, scored the fifth goal in the 86th minute, and sealed the fate of a match that PSG had dominated from start to finish.

With the scoreline at 5-0, the final whistle confirmed PSG’s historic victory, marking an era of success for the club and a breakthrough moment for the side vacated by Kylian Mbappé last summer to join Real Madrid in push for Champions League trophy. The players embraced on the pitch, while fans erupted in celebrations, finally tasting the sweet nectar of Champions League glory.
