Nigerian singer, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has claimed he contributed to the success of his colleague, Burna Boy.
Naija News reports that Skales, in a recent interview with Naija FM, Lagos, said he inspired Burna Boy at some point in his career.
According to Skales, the Port Harcourt-born singer had no hit song before he featured on ‘Temper Remix’ in 2017.
He maintained Burna Boy has also inspired him over the years, adding that the essence of collaboration is to support and promote each other.
He said, “I inspired Burna Boy. He will agree with me. So, nobody help anybody. We probably admire ourselves and we decide to work together.
“As at then, Burna boy had no hot song before I featured him on ‘Temper Remix.’
“It was after our collaboration that he started excelling. I’m not trying to take credit for his success but he has inspired me over the years and I believe I inspired him at a point, too.”
I Have More Money Than 90 Percent Of People I Looked Up To
Meanwhile, Burna Boy has disclosed that he is now richer than most politicians and oil tycoons he once looked up to.
He stated this in a post on his Instagram story on Saturday while advising his followers not to underestimate those who are younger than them.
Speaking on his financial status, the singer said, “Imagine growing up and only oil men and politicians were the ones really getting the real money followed by the G boys. Music wasn’t even in the conversation when money was the topic.
“Now an ugly black musician from Port Harcourt got more money than 90% of the people he looked up to as money makers.”
