CAF Selects Two Nigerian Referees For Pre-competition Training Ahead Of 2025 CHAN

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the selection of two Nigerian referees, Kazzim Abiola and Samuel Pwadutakam, to take part in an important pre-competition training and evaluation program for the upcoming 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament.

This intensive training program is set to take place from December 4th to December 9th in Cairo, Egypt. The objective of the workshop is to provide referees from various countries across the African continent with the latest updates on rules and practical training concerning modern refereeing technologies.

Additionally, this training serves as a critical final qualifying step; only those referees who complete the program will be eligible for appointment to officiate during the CHAN tournament, which is highly anticipated by football fans and stakeholders alike.

Kazzim Abiola, a seasoned FIFA-badged referee who is from Zamfara State, is recognized for his extensive experience in officiating at multiple prestigious African competitions. His participation in this program will see him assume the role of centre referee, a position that underscores his reputation within the realm of African football officiating.

On the other hand, Samuel Pwadutakam, from Adamawa State, will participate in the program as an assistant referee. This marks a significant milestone for Pwadutakam as this will be his second high-profile international assignment under the auspices of CAF. His involvement highlights the growing talent and potential of Nigerian referees on the continental stage.
