The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, led by its president and chairman of the governing council, Mallam Ahmed Gobir, recently paid a courtesy visit to the executive governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to advance human resource transformation.
A statement disclosed that CIPM’s visit provided an opportunity to commend the governor for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to human capital development in Lagos State.
During the engagement, Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed the state’s dedication to prioritising human resource management and talent development within the public sector.
He acknowledged the pivotal role CIPM plays in advancing HR excellence.
Sanwo-Olu said, “The work CIPM is doing is remarkable, and Lagos State will continue to prioritise HR in the public sector.”
According to Gobir, CIPM’s courtesy visit to the governor aimed to raise awareness of CIPM’s upcoming 57th International Conference and Exhibition, themed ‘Reimagining the New World of Work,’ scheduled to take place from October 27 to 30, 2025, in Abuja.
The courtesy visit was attended by senior government officials, including the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, MCIPM; Hon. Commissioner for Establishment & Training, Mr Afolabi Ayantayo; Permanent Secretaries of the Lagos State Government; and executives of the CIPM Alausa Chapter.
A key highlight of the meeting was the announcement of Africa’s largest HR event – the 57th International Conference & Exhibition.
