Belgium Jupiler Pro League side, Club Brugge, have reportedly placed a £20m asking price on Nigerian midfielder, Raphael Onyedika, who is being monitored by English Premier League club, Crystal Palace, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
According to The Sun, Crystal Palace’s top scout, Dougie Freedman, watched the Nigeria international in action for the Belgian side last week and is ready to make a move for him.
The 23-year-old Onyedika has attracted attention in recent weeks after adding goal scoring to his involvement at Brugge, where he is propelling their title bid, as they sit second in the title playoffs with just two points behind leaders Anderlecht.
Two weeks ago, he scored a brace in their 3-1 win over the leaders and added another one during their 3-0 win over Royal Antwerp last week. His consistency has seen him play 42 games in all competitions this term, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
Onyedika’s £20m price tag is said not to be posing a problem for Palace amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze. The Eagles are struggling to keep both players and their transfer fees will be more than enough to fund Onyedika’s move.
The midfielder joined Nicky Hayen’s side in 2022 from Midtjylland and quickly established himself as a key player at the Jan Breydel Stadium. He has featured 82 times so far for Brugge and his current deal runs till June 30, 2027.
The Nigerian helped Brugge make it to the Europa Conference League semi-finals where they will take on Fiorentina.
