Court Restrains Benue APC Chairman As Police Block Secretariat

The crisis in Benue State APC has assumed a new  dimension as security operatives took over the party secretariat in Makurdi and put it under lock yesterday.

Staff of the secretariat were ordered out of the office as part of strategies to enforce the suspension on chairman of the party, Comrade Austine Agada.

Leadership gathered that the Benue State High Court holding in Aliade restrained Agada from parading himself as state chairman of the party.

The restraining order came following a suit instituted by a member of the party, Hon. Agaba Moses, who is seeking the interpretation of chapters 21.2 and 21.3 of the constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2022 as amended.

Agaba also sought through a motion exparte Motion No: ALHC/04/2024 an order to restrain Agada from insisting to continue as chairman inspite of a valid suspension on him by the APC exco of his Ihieje ward I of Ogbadibo local government area.
