Delta Cultural Festival: OFAAC Vows To Strengthen The Culture, Identity Of Anioma

The Organization for the Advancement of Anioma Culture (OFAAC) has vowed it will continue to be in the vanguard of strengthening the culture and identity of Anioma people.

The President, OFAAC, Arc Kester Ifeadi, said in Asaba when he hosted Anioma stakeholders, Directors, Traditional Rulers and representatives of major ethnic groups of Anioma people over the Anioma Cultural festival.



He said the organization, as the cultural umbrella body of Anioma ethnic nationality in Nigeria and diaspora, the 69 communities under the umbrella body in Ibo speaking locality of the state would come out with their best in traditional arts, crafts, cuisine, dance, reading and personalities to add colour to the occasion.

“We are back with innovative ideas, having suspended the cultural festivities over the demise of our patron, the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi Prof Chike Edozien and the Omu Anioma, HRM Martha Dunkwu”.

He maintained that the edition of this year would showcase unimaginable innovations. “The festival this year is going to be bigger and better. We are coming back with a vengeance over those deaths and suspension of the festivity last year, its Micro-credit and health insurance schemes.

According to him, the organization is non-partisan, a platform for the unity of its people created to welcome the agitation for the creation of Anioma State.

“The quest for Anioma State did not just start today. It was approved long ago before the military coup truncated it. OFAAC has been at the forefront of the clamour. We are 100 per cent in support of the creation of Anima state. We appreciate those in the renewed struggle” he declared.

 

He commended the strength to strength and power to power that the state government and other corporate bodies have helped in sustaining the annual festival.

 

The management team which includes the Vice President of OFAAC, Mr. Paddy Ugboh, Secretary, Ogbuechi Afam Ugah, Mr Emmanuel Ogwu, Mr Donatus Itoro, Barr. Monday Olodu, Chief Coordinator, Prince Andrew Obi and others were commended for their strategic leadership support that has distinguished OFAAC from other known organisations.
