Edo 2024: Senator Okpebholo Urges Support For Edo Central To Produce Gov

Frontline gubernatorial aspirant and Senator representing Edo Central, Monday Okpebholo, has described Edo Central’s strategic support for Edo South in 2012, 2016 governorship elections and 2020 APC gubernatorial ticket as a defining factor in the state’s politics and appealed to the party to rally round his aspiration as the 2024 primary election approaches.

Addressing newsmen in Benin City on the sideline of his visit to leaders of the party in the seven local government areas of Edo South senatorial district, he said it’s time return Edo Central’s favour and for sake of equity and justice.

“As often said, one good turn deserves another. Edo Central has always played a pivotal role in propelling Edo South to the governorship, beginning in 2012 there is need for a united front in achieving political success for the entire state.”

The federal lawmaker, popularly known as ‘Akpakimiza’, argued that history repeated itself in 2020 as Edo Central threw its weight behind Edo South in clinching the coveted APC gubernatorial ticket.

He added that, “With the 2024 party primaries on the horizon, it is natural that Edo South APC return the support it has received from us in Edo Central in the past, for equity and justice in the political process by rallying behind an aspirant like me from Edo Central.

“I am more than qualified and a very credible aspirant hailing from Edo Central. As the current Senator representing the zone, I am bringing a wealth of experience and a track record of effective representation.
