Efejuku Explores Life In Upcoming Film ‘Love Lockdown’

In her latest film, “Love Lockdown” scheduled to premiere on February 7, film director, Lyndsey Efejuku explores how life impacts love.

Starring Andrew Yaw Buntin, Yewande Osamein and Detola Jones in lead roles, Love Lockdown tells the story of engaged couple, whose love life takes a toll, when the fiancé is caught in a lockdown with his ex-girlfriend.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP e-Train, Efejuku said her intention with the film is to show the unfairness of life, and how people can fall out of love through no fault of theirs.

“It is a bold, intimate, love story of how unfair life can be. I just wanted to show that sometimes a relationship doesn’t work out, not because one is terrible, but simply because life happens.”

Love Lockdown is one of the Efejuku’s film scheduled to release this year. There is Remi and Nneoma, a local and contemporized adaptation of biblical story of Ruth and Naomi that is in post-production, and Lasgidi Corp, a production she co-directs with two others also expected to release in 2025.

She made her debut as a stage (theatre) director last year at the Beeta Arts Festival, with the stage play ‘Amebo’.
