The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad has commended Islamic scholars for their dedication throughout the month of Ramadan.
In his Eid-el-Fitr message in Sokoto on Sunday, Abubakar emphasised that the scholars’ engagement during the fasting period was instrumental in fostering religious tolerance and unity among Nigerians.
“We have witnessed peace, peaceful coexistence, and a strong commitment to supporting our people, particularly the vulnerable among us.
“This development aligns with the dedication of our scholars, who, throughout Ramadan, continuously encouraged society to embrace the benefits of assisting one another.
“We appreciate your efforts in fulfilling your obligations and urge you to sustain this noble gesture toward achieving a brighter future for the Ummah,” he said.
The Sultan called on Muslims to uphold the lessons learned during Ramadan and to continue praying for peace across the country.
He also urged Nigerians to pray for the nation’s leaders while appreciating the commitment of the Sokoto state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu and President Bola Tinubu in fulfilling their mandates.
“In Sokoto State and Nigeria, we have witnessed significant transformation within just one and a half years of the present administration.
“We are confident and believe that these transformative engagements by our leaders are just the beginning,” he added.
Abubakar assured that traditional institutions in the country would continue to support the government in fulfilling its responsibilities.
He also commended security agencies for their dedication to ensuring the safety of citizens and encouraged them to explore more strategies to address security challenges in the country.
