In a press statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs Obiageli Orah, the authority explained that the rehabilitation works specifically focus on the asphalt phase at the A2 Taxiway-link of the runway.

Orah stressed that the move is aimed at ensuring continued safety and efficiency of flight operations at Nigeria’s busiest international gateway.

FAAN assured airlines and passengers that the temporary closure would not cause disruptions to flight operations, as all flights would be redirected to the alternative runway, 18L/36R.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to upholding its core values of safety, security, and comfort.

Passengers and airline operators have been advised to take note of the development and comply with all operational adjustments during the period.
