FCTA Boosts Financial Literacy Campaign In Bwari Council

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) through the Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) is increasing its financial literacy and inclusion awareness campaigns, reaching out to residents of Bwari township and Dutse in the Bwari area council.

In a statement, the team leader, corporate communications of the AEA, Emmanuel Tortiv,  said it was noted that similar initiatives were conducted at Wuse and Nyanya markets within the Abuja Municipal Area Council.

On Thursday, the AEA sensitisation team hosted a town hall meeting at the area council secretariat in Bwari, focusing on critical topics such as tax payment, budgeting, savings, financial planning, risk management, financial fraud and fcams, and retirement planning.

The council chairman, John Gabaya, represented by the acting director of administration, Mr. Isah Musa Yerima, lauded the AEA for its initiative amidst the challenges faced by rural dwellers.

He pointed out that many potential entrepreneurs often see their ambitions falter due to lack of knowledge.

“A common issue for local entrepreneurs is that they frequently mismanage their initial capital. This training comes at an opportune moment, especially with the harvesting season approaching; the income from their farms could significantly support them,” he stated.
