Firm donates borehole to Ibadan community

FoodCo Nigeria has donated a borehole to the Yemetu community of Ibadan, Oyo State, capital.

According to a statement made available to PUNCH Online on Saturday, the company described the initiative as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility campaign, aimed at providing clean and accessible water to underserved communities in alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6.

Commenting on the project, Head of Innovation, Growth, and Business Transformation at FoodCo Nigeria, Funmi Aiyepeku, emphasised that the intervention reflects the company’s dedication to fostering the sustainability of its host communities.

The statement quoted Aiyepeku as saying, “At FoodCo, we believe that businesses have a duty to invest in the growth and development of their host communities.

“One of the ways we are meeting this is by ensuring access to water and sanitation in underserved communities within the environs of our business.

“This also aligns with the UN SDG 6 which states that access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene is the most basic human need for health and well-being.

“The Yemetu borehole project underscores our dedication to supporting our community partners in meeting critical social needs. This campaign is one of the several touchpoints through which we give back to the communities that help our business thrive. In the coming months, we will be replicating similar interventions in other underserved areas.”
