Fubara offers scholarship to winner of ‘Big Break Moment’ reality show

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced the award of a scholarship to a resident of the state, Chibueze Uzodinma, for winning a dance competition organised by the Big Break Moment.

According to the organisers, the Big Break Moment is a talent hunt platform which is committed to recognising the creativity and talents of Nigerian youths.

According to a statement issued by Boniface Onyedi, a media aide to the governor, Fubara announced the scholarship at a ceremony where he was handed the official prize of a new Changan CS35 Plus luxury car for onward presentation to the winner at Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday.

The governor was also noted to have said that beside the provision of roads and houses, which most people know as development efforts, harnessing talents was also an important aspect of development.

He added, “I accepted to do this for one reason. It is to send a message to our youths that when you are ready to excel and unleash yourself to the world positively, we will always stand by you.

“I also feel happy that the winner of this show is from my alma mater. I want to say to everyone who is watching, you can still be in school and still become whatever you want to be outside your academics.

“As a government, we are going to support you and see you through schooling. So, we are not going to give you money. I will award a scholarship to you to any level that you want to get to.”
