Gala eye Richarlison as Osimhen alternative

Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray are lining up a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison, amid the uncertainty of signing Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

According to Turkish outlet Posta, Galatasaray are turning their attention to Richarlison again after handing Osimhen’s entourage an ultimatum to make his transfer happen.

The Istanbul giants previously attempted to bring Richarlison in on loan, but this time they are reportedly prepared to negotiate a permanent transfer, especially if their pursuit of Osimhen falls through, which now appears increasingly likely.

Osimhen has just completed a remarkable loan spell in Turkey, scoring 37 goals plus eight assists in 41 games across all competitions for Galatasaray.

The 26-year-old powered Galatasaray to the league and cup double in the process.

While the Nigerian striker has been linked with several clubs in the English Premier League and the Serie A, the Turkish side are looking elsewhere to get another marksman ahead of next season.

Tottenham are open to offers for Richarlison but are under no immediate pressure to sell.

New Spurs coach Thomas Frank values the Brazilian’s work rate and pressing, yet concedes his goal return remains underwhelming.

According to reports from Fanatik, via TMW, Galatasaray have already reached an agreement with Napoli concerning the €75m fee for the player, but a lack of response from Osimhen is beginning to wear away at the Turkish giants’ patience.

Speaking about the deal, Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu sais the club are running out of patience.

“He’s making us wait but time is running out. We’ve offered him figures higher than those proposed in Europe.”

In other news, Galatasaray are said to have moved quickly to counter the huge offer by Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, by also improving the striker’s proposed salary.

Al Hilal will now pay Osimhen €40m a year for four years as they step up their pursuit of the striker.

According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Galatasaray have now offered to pay Osimhen €18m a year plus other attractive bonuses, with the hope of convincing him to stay.
