GEN Nigeria and Tripoint Academy have highlighted the transformative impact of entrepreneurship in fostering economic empowerment and inclusion throughout Northern Nigeria.
This was part of the highlights of the Northern Nigeria Entrepreneurship Walk in commemoration of the, which was held simultaneously in all 19 Northern states recently with the theme “Entrepreneurship is for Everyone”
The event united entrepreneurs and marginalised groups to address economic inequalities.
The event concluded with a roundtable breakfast in Kano, where GEN Nigeria honoured 10 trailblazing female CEOs for their groundbreaking contributions to business and societal progress.
According to a statement from GEN Nigeria and Tripoint Academy, the walk emphasised entrepreneurship’s role in fostering financial independence, particularly among women and underserved populations.
A standout moment was the participation of Kano State’s Deaf community, led by the Chief Executive Officer of Deaflywood Film Production, Sani Isyaku.
Isyaku remarked, “Inclusion is not just a value but a necessity for sustainable growth.”
Isyaku urged for greater support for online business and e-commerce opportunities for the Deaf community.
The Managing Director of GEN Nigeria, Dr Olawale Anifowose, lauded the honourees, emphasising that capacity-building initiatives targeting women were pivotal to achieving widespread economic development.
On his part, the founder of Tripoint Academy, Mrs Shuhda Muhammed, said, “When women access economic opportunities, they lift their families and communities out of poverty.” Her statement reinforced the importance of empowering women through entrepreneurship to break cycles of poverty.
Also, co-founder of Tripoint Academy, Dr Saratu Abdullahi, noted, “Together, we can create an ecosystem where women thrive and communities flourish.”
