Globacom awarded a brand new Toyota Prado and other exciting prizes to lucky subscribers at its “Festival of Joy” prize presentation ceremony in Lagos. Civil contractor Ayobami Adejumobi emerged as the recipient of the grand prize, the Toyota Prado.
The event, held at Gloworld on Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, also saw other winners take home prizes such as Keke Napep, sewing machines, grinding machines, and power generators.
In a recent statement, the telecom company highlighted that the promotion is part of its ongoing efforts to reward subscribers and deepen customer engagement.
Adejumobi expressed his excitement after receiving the keys from Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos State.
“A call came from Globacom, and the news was too good to believe. I doubted it. Could it be fraudsters? However, I remembered the promo and how I joined when it was launched, and I immediately proceeded to the Gloworld on Adeola Odeku, where the Glo officials were waiting for me.
“I thank Glo immensely for this prize. I will use the jeep personally; it will enhance my status and help me to get more jobs as a civil engineering contractor,” said Adejumobi, a native of Osun State currently residing in Lagos.
During the event, the Deputy Governor Hamzat praised Globacom for its thoughtful promotions.
“The good thing is that this is happening at a difficult time in the country. We must thank Glo for this and just pray that next year, it will be bigger. We would love the chairman, (Dr Mike Adenuga, to make it twice this size next year. May God continue to bless the company”, he noted.
The Divisional Head, West at Globacom, Lawrence Odediran, explained in his speech that both new and existing subscribers can take part in the Festival of Joy promotion by dialing *611# to opt in and continuing to recharge (voice and data) during the promo period to be eligible for prizes.
He also explained that new subscribers can get started right away by buying a new SIM, registering it, and dialing *611#.
