Nigeria and Angola have clashed on 10 previous occasions. The Eagles emerged victorious three times, drew five and lost two. The Angolans remember with fondness their 1-0 victory over Nigeria in the 2006 World Cup qualifiers, which ultimately proved decisive to their advancement at the expense of the Eagles.

Also today, DR Congo and Guinea will go head-to-head live on SuperSport Football (ch 61) at 9pm. While DR Congo advanced on penalties against Egypt, Guinea stunned tournament high flyers, Equatorial Guinea, in 1-0.
