Gov. Bago Mourns As Niger Loses Ex-minister, Traditional Leader

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has mourned the death of two prominent indigenes of the state

They are a prominent traditional leader in  Nupe land Makama Gargajiya, Alhaji Idris Abdulrahman and a former minister of state for foreign affairs and later interior, Alhaji Abubakar Achituwo Tanko.

While Abdulraman died in Kaduna, the former minister passed on at the National Hospital in Abuja and both have been buried  in accordance with Islamic rites.

The governor condoled the Etsu Nupe and chairman of the state council of traditional rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar and the entire Nupe Kingdom over the death of the Nupe leader, Abdulrahman.

In a condolence message signed by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor described  the  loss  as colossal to the Nupe Kingdom in particular and the state in general.

He recounted the many contributions of the deceased in promoting the culture and tradition of the Nupes, and  prayed that Allah rewards the deceased with Aljanna Firdausi and comfort his immediate and extended family members, the Etsu Nupe, members of the Bida Emirate Council and the entire people of Nupe land.

Similarly the governor  commiserated with the family of late Alh. Abubakar Achituwo Tanko.

In a condolence message he described the passing of Alh. Achituwo as saddening.

He said the  state and Nigeria had lost a rare gem whose vacuum would be hard to fill and  prayed  Allah to grant him Aljannat Firdausi.
