Guard your utterances, Ondo APC tells gov aspirants

Ahead of its April 20 governorship primary, the Ondo State All Progressives Congress has cautioned its governorship aspirants against making unguarded statements.

The party gave the advice in its Easter message released on Monday in Akure by its Publicity Secretary, Alex Kalejaye.

The party said it was determined to create a conducive atmosphere for the emergence of a popular governorship candidate.

According to Kalejaye, the Ondo APC party is waxing stronger, intimidating to other political parties, and is the most organised and viable party in the state.

He commended the loyalty and commitment of party leaders and members thus far, assuring its teeming members of better days ahead.

Kalejaye the party was optimistic that Nigeria’s economy would get better soon.

“We rejoice with our members, and indeed, all Christians, over the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which symbolises victory. It is the essence of the Easter celebration.

“It is our wish that the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ will activate the deeper sense of patriotism, unity within our fold, and uncommon love for our dear state in the interest of all.

“However, we want to use this opportunity to appeal to our members to shun all forms of utterances that could heat up the polity; we are all members of the same family,”  he said.

The Ondo State governorship election has been scheduled for November 16, 2024.

Among the frontline APC governorship aspirants is the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
