Henry Kissinger: US Eventful Secretary Of State, Nobel-prize Winner Dies At 100

Former US secretary of state, Henry Kissinger, has passed away at the age of 100.

Without providing a cause of death, his consulting firm, Kissinger Associates stated that he died on Wednesday at his home in Connecticut.

Kissinger, who was born in Germany, became a naturalized US citizen in 1943 before serving in World War II and later earned his Doctorate at Harvard University, where he taught.

Kissinger received a Nobel Peace Prize in 1973 for helping arrange the end of US military involvement in the Vietnam War and was credited with secret diplomacy that helped President Richard Nixon open communist China to the United States and the West.

A private family service will be held for Kissinger’s interment, followed by a public memorial service in New York, according to AFP.
