HOSTCOM Applauds Tinubu’s Policies, Calls For Continuity In 2027

The Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), under the leadership of Dr Benjamin Tamaranebi, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for his economic policies and achievements, calling for his re-election in 2027.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday in Abuja, HOSTCOM national president, Benjamin Tamaranebi, stated that the endorsement was made in collaboration with their Grand Patron, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (popularly known as Tompolo), the chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL).

Tamaranebi highlighted that the decision was based on a thorough assessment of President Tinubu’s achievements in the first two years of his administration, particularly in the oil and gas sector, economic growth and infrastructural development.

HOSTCOM commended President Tinubu’s efforts in combating oil theft and pipeline vandalism, which had plagued Nigeria’s economy for years.

He noted that strategic partnerships with Tantita Security Services and other security agencies have significantly improved security in the Niger Delta.

“As a result, Nigeria’s crude oil production has increased from 600,000 barrels per day to 1.8 million barrels per day, stabilising the country’s position in the global oil market,” he said.

HOSTCOM also acknowledged that the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) – which had previously been underutilized – is now delivering direct benefits to host communities as billions of naira are being invested in schools, hospitals and water supply projects, directly improving the lives of Niger Delta residents.

Beyond the oil sector, HOSTCOM praised President Tinubu’s economic and infrastructural reforms, which have significantly impacted national development.

He highlighted the key areas to include, “The operationalisation of the Dangote Refinery and the revival of the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries, which are reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imported petroleum products.

“A boost in national revenue, now exceeding ₦9.1 trillion, with debt servicing reduced from 97 percent to 68 percent.

“Major road projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Highway, and the East-West Highway, enhancing national connectivity and development.

“The establishment of the South-South Development Commission, a historic milestone that will accelerate progress in the region.”

HOSTCOM also commended the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and other agencies for executing impactful projects that are transforming the Niger Delta.

The host communities warned against a change in leadership in 2027, arguing that such a move could derail the progress made so far.
