I didn’t call out Funke Akindele to chase clout — Ijoba Lande

Comedian and content creator, Ganiyu Morufu, aka Ijoba Lande, has said that the report of him claiming that popular filmmaker and actress, Funke Akindele, paid him the sum of N90,000 after one month on set was misconstrued.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, he claimed that the video was tampered with. He stated that although he made the statement “mistakenly”, he later corrected it, though it was not shown in the video.

He said, “The people that reported the story didn’t post the full video. It wasn’t N90,000 but N190,000. I made a mistake by saying N90,000. Meanwhile, where I mentioned N190,000 wasn’t added. I didn’t say what I said to call her out; it was just a topic that was brought up for discussion during the live conversation. It wasn’t that I personally called her out. The incident happened in 2022, and I will make another video to correct the narrative.”

Meanwhile, Lande had also called out comedian and skit maker, Micheal Adeyemi, popularly known as Erekere, for allegedly editing actor, Baba Tee, into a skit without his consent. In a now deleted video post on Erekere’s social media page, Lande’s recent marital issues involving his estranged wife, Dara; and Baba Tee, was portrayed in a joking manner.

Many were surprised when they saw the video as Lande had previously told Saturday Beats that he doesn’t want to work on the same set with Baba Tee.

Reacting to Erekere’s skit, Lande made a video, saying, “Erekere, I will make sure you regret what you did with the skit you just posted. If you do not regret it, call me a bastard. I will make you a scapegoat.

“Why will you edit Baba Tee into the skit you called me to feature in? Making it look like we were on the set together, without my consent. You even used my ex-wife’s voice as a voiceover in the skit. You are ‘catching cruise’ with a situation that is hurting me. I had turned down many movie producers who wanted us (him and Baba Tee) to be together in a film. How do you expect them to feel when they watch this skit? I will teach you a lesson.”

When asked how he plans on carrying out his threat to “teach Erekere a lesson”, Lande stated that everything had been resolved. He said, “Yes, he (Erekere) finally reached out to me via DM, and all has been resolved. Now that he took down the video and also apologised, everything is forgotten.”
