I Resemble International Artist, Lil Wayne, Not Local Artist, Asake – Portable Declares

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has countered those comparing him with his colleague, Asake.

In rejecting the comparisons with Asake, Portable also submitted that he looks like American rapper, Lil Wayne.

Naija News understands the comparisons started after Asake shared footage of his new look, featuring shorter hair and face tattoos, and some social media users made comments about his resemblance with Portable.

However, the Zazu crooner, in response, released a video on Instagram in which he cautioned netizens against such comparisons, stating that he resembles an international artist and not a local artist.

“I want to warn you all, do not compare me to Asake. I do not look like Asake, I look like Lil Wayne.

“…A person’s true character is not revealed by their appearance but their heart. I tattooed my face because I have been disappointed severally.

“… Stop comparing to these overrated artists. Despite being called underrated, see where I’m now. I resemble Lil Wayne. I resemble an international artist not a local artist,” he said.

In a similar development, it would be recalled that Portable recently claimed that he has more hit songs than Grammy award-winning singer, Burna Boy.

Portable insisted that his statement is not about boasting, as he does not make empty boasts.

“I have more hit songs than Burna Boy. I’m not making empty boasts. I have hit songs like ‘Tony Montana’. Uncle Burna, I have more hits than you,” he stated.
