Indomie promotes culture at Abuja carnival

Indomie Noodles has showcased its support for cultural richness and diversity by headlining the 2024 Abuja Carnival held from November 23 to 25.

In a statement, Indomie stated the carnival, which returned after an eight-year hiatus, celebrated the country’s vibrant heritage, attracting locals and tourists while serving as a platform for business engagement.

Vice President, Kashim Shettima, officially flagged off the event with a call for unity and cultural celebration, highlighting the importance of the carnival as a symbol of national pride and cohesion.

The carnival kicked off with a parade of states at the Area 1 Bridge in Abuja, featuring traditional attire, colourful floats, and performances that embodied Nigeria’s cultural diversity.

Indomie hailed its brand presence as a major highlight, noting its experiential booth offered games and other activities for children and free servings of its noodles.

The Marketing Manager, Oluwaponmile Alabi, hailed Indomie’s headline sponsorship, as a call to the brand’s commitment to unity and cultural celebration, saying “Indomie is a family brand; we are more than just a meal. Our participation in the carnival is part of our way of bringing people together, resonating with what matters most to Nigerians.

Every bowl of Indomie served at the Abuja Carnival is a symbol of our shared identity and culture.”

Alabi further explained Indomie’s evolving approach to consumer engagement: “At Indomie, we believe that a brand that doesn’t evolve is destined to fade. That’s why we constantly seek innovative ways to connect with our consumers. For us, culture is the heartbeat of every Nigerian’s way of life, and it’s the perfect bridge to deepen this connection.

“While we’ve long been associated with mothers and children, we’re stepping into next year with a renewed focus—aligning our flavours and identity with the vibrant culture that defines Nigeria.”

The carnival featured an array of events, including street parades, traditional cooking competitions, children’s activities, cultural nights, and a grand masquerade fiesta.
