Insurfeel eyes one million insurance covers for uninsured

Insurfeel Initiative has stated that it is targeting one million insurance covers for the uninsured in the country.

The promoter of Insurfeel Initiative, Chuks Okonta, said the move was to ensure safety and use the insurance mechanism to save people from poverty.

According to him, the initiative would entail the donation of Uni-personal cover; School Fees Protection Cover and Health Insurance to students in secondary schools, tertiary institutions and the general public.

He said, “The initiative would help take insurance closer to the people, thereby, deepening insurance penetration.

“Insurfeel Initiative has already engaged partners and has continued to engage more partners to leverage the initiative to execute their Corporate Social Responsibility mandates.”

He expressed optimism that the drive would surpass the one million target with support from people of goodwill.

Insurance penetration is low and a source of concern for stakeholders.

The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers blamed it on poor understanding and lack of access to registered brokers to offer them professional guidance on consumption and regulatory procedures.
