Interswitch, Africa’s leading payments and digital commerce company, has announced its sponsorship of the 2024 Committee of e-Business Industry Heads Conference.
In a statement on Wednesday, the payment giant said the event will be held this month in Lagos, with the theme, “Payment System Vision 2030: Navigating Contemporary Issues in Driving Future Growth.”
CeBIH, an association of electronic business leaders from Nigerian banks, is dedicated to promoting electronic banking services that meet global standards.
The 2024 conference will serve as a platform to review the progress of Nigeria’s Payment System Vision 2030—a strategic initiative by the Central Bank of Nigeria aimed at advancing financial inclusion, fostering payment innovation, and supporting the digital economy.
According to Interswitch, the PSV 2030 framework builds on the achievements of the Payment System Vision 2020 and seeks to further expand Nigeria’s digital payment ecosystem over the next decade.
“PSV 2030 aims to advance financial inclusion, drive innovation in the payments sector, and support the broader digital economy in Nigeria,” the company stated.
The Founder and Group Managing Director of Interswitch, Mitchell Elegbe will deliver a keynote address titled “The Impact of Globalization and the Gig Economy on Inclusive Payment Systems in Nigeria.”
Commenting on the company’s sponsorship, Elegbe said, “We are proud to support CeBIH and the 2024 CeBIH annual conference as it aligns perfectly with our vision of building seamless, secure, and future-ready payment systems for Africa.
“This partnership highlights Interswitch’s commitment to driving innovation and advancing the payments ecosystem. Together, we aim to address the evolving challenges in digital payments and contribute to the development of a robust, inclusive, and sustainable digital economy across Africa.”
The CeBIH 2024 conference will explore how technology and innovation can drive digital financial inclusion while fostering collaboration among financial institutions, fintech companies, and regulators.
The event will also generate policy recommendations to support the growth and sustainability of Nigeria’s payment ecosystem.
This year’s conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive sessions designed to provide actionable insights. It will bring together thought leaders, industry experts, and policymakers to discuss strategies shaping the future of payments in Nigeria and beyond.
Interswitch said its sponsorship of the conference underscores its dedication to driving innovation, promoting digital financial inclusion, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
The company emphasised its commitment to building a secure and inclusive payment ecosystem that aligns with the objectives of PSV 2030.
By supporting the CeBIH 2024 Conference, Interswitch continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of payments in Nigeria and across Africa.
